Black Friday Deals Week: Big discounts on all mirrorless brands are here!

Black Friday Deals Week: Big discounts on all mirrorless brands are here!

If there were an ideal time to purchase a mirrorless camera, as a gift or for yourself, this would be it! Black Friday Deals Week on Amazon has finally begun, and we can already see that all the major mirrorless camera brands, including Panasonic, Olympus, Fujifilm and Sony, have received price reductions between $100 and $300. Let’s have a closer look at each brand to see which cameras they’ve decided to make more affordable!

The Lumix GH3

Panasonic is definitely dishing out the most interesting deals at the moment. For a limited time, you will receive a large discount on the Lumix GH3 body. As you probably know, Mathieu mainly uses the GH3 as a second body alongside his Panasonic AF101. It has flown up high in the sky in a drone, filmed a music video, held many interviews and had its share of industrial and corporate encounters. Though it is well-known for its high quality video, it is perfectly capable of being a stills camera as well. Feel free to head over to our full review of the GH3 to find out more!

You’ll also find the wonderful Lumix GX7 and 14-42mm kit lens (full review here) and Lumix G6 and 14-42mm kit lens available for quite a bit less than the original price. We’ve not had the chance to try the latter, but the former is one of our favourite mirrorless cameras for 2013. It’s professional, fast, full of features and is in possession of some of the best ergonomics we’ve found on a camera in a long time.

I can guarantee that Fujifilm lovers are going to feel quite giddy with happiness this week. Nearly every Fuji X series model has received a significant discount. Since the brand new X-E2 was just released, it will come as no surprise that the camera that received the biggest price cut is its predecessor, the Fuji X-E1.

Amongst the other models that have been discounted, we have: the Fuji X-M1Fuji X-A1 and Fuji XQ1. Having tried the X-M1 for an extended period here in Turin, and the latter two at a Fuji X Day in Cossato, we can confirm that they are excellent cameras for beginners and advanced amateurs just starting out in the Fuji X world.

Be sure to check out the dedicated Fujifilm page to see the full list of models on sale at the moment.

Me with the E-M5 and E-P5 in Wales

Three Olympus compact system cameras have been discounted, among which you’ll find our beloved OM-D E-M5. Due to the recent release of the E-M1, the E-M5 now costs much less than it once did, making this the right time to pick one up. If you need any convincing that this camera is a great companion for professional photographic work, have a look at our E-M5 episode of Mirrorless on the Job.

The stylish and professional Pen E-P5 has also received a discount (full review here), as has the Pen E-PL5 for beginners and advanced amateurs. Sadly, the E-PL5 is one camera we have yet to try, so we cannot advise you one way or the other at the moment.

Be sure to check out the dedicated Olympus page to see the full list of models on sale at the moment.

My mountain climbing companion – the NEX-3N!

The deals are looking promising on the Sony front as well. You can now save on select NEX models including the NEX-3N, NEX-5T, NEX-6, and NEX-7. Though we have little experience with models 5-7, we really enjoyed using the NEX-3N during our trip to the Gran Paradiso National Park a few months ago. Designed with amateurs in mind, it works well as a stills and video camera, and with the right lens, remains light and portable, even after a seven hour walk through the Alps! 😉

As with every Black Friday, deals are constantly being updated by the hour so it is worth an occasional visit to the Black Friday page for mirrorless/compact system cameras. Your dream camera may just end up receiving the discount you’ve been waiting for!
