The GH4 Revamped for Stills – The Panasonic GX8 Review

15/10/2015 By Heather

Panasonic has always been considered more of a generalist company than a serious photography brand, an issue that hasn’t been helped by the company’s involvement in sectors as diverse as beauty products and home appliances. Indeed, very few people realise that “Lumix” (the company’s name for its series of digital cameras) is an individual product brand of Panasonic at all.

Tiny Body, Big Performance – Panasonic GM5 Review

05/10/2015 By Heather

The Panasonic Lumix GM5 is such a tiny camera that at first glance, you would assume that it was nothing more than a simple point and shoot. Upon closer inspection, however, you’d soon notice the presence of an interchangeable mount and a surprisingly large sensor. This is the brilliance of the Lumix GM5 – while it may be small on the outside, it packs the same amount of power on the inside as many of the other larger mirrorless cameras on the market today.

Are you curious to know more about this tiny gem? Then let’s keep reading!

The most modern Leica to date? – The Leica Q (116) Review

20/08/2015 By Mathieu

Excluding the M rangefinder series, which is aimed at specific users, Leica’s attempts to enter the consumer digital imaging market haven’t been that exciting so far. Its X series includes expensive compact cameras that house a large APS-C sensor but lack several features and deliver limited autofocus performance. The build quality is excellent but these cameras pale in comparison to the aggressive competition in the APS-C segment (think Fujifilm, Sony and Samsung).

A day at Penrhyn Castle – Hands-On with the Panasonic GX8

17/08/2015 By Mathieu

I’ve just come back from a day trip to Penrhyn Castle where Panasonic UK held its second Wales-based event in association with the National Trust. Despite being late in the evening, I decided to start writing my first impressions about the Panasonic Lumix GX8 while the experience is still fresh in my mind. We extend our warmest thanks to Panasonic ambassador Ross Grieves, who was able to procure us a pre-production model to use, and to Mark Baber for telling us about the event.
