A fun experiment: Using the Fuji X-Pro2 OVF and XF 100-400mm for birds in flight

30/03/2016 By Mathieu

Don’t worry, there isn’t a typo in the title. I did indeed write OVF (a.k.a. optical viewfinder)!

Now you might think I’ve had too many pints or have a serious headache but rest assured, I am 100% healthy and yes, I am going to talk about shooting birds in flight with a telephoto lens using the optical rangefinder of the Fujifilm X-Pro2.

Fujifilm X70 Review – The travel-size Fuji with a wide angle

11/03/2016 By Heather

The short review (for those who already own the X100T): take away the hybrid viewfinder of the X100T, add a tilting touchscreen, shave off a few grams in weight, crunch it down to about 3/4 of the size, pop on a fixed 28mm equivalent lens and voila, you have the Fujifilm X70!

The long review (for those who are new to Fujifilm): Okay, okay, I knew I couldn’t get away with a one sentence review. After all, not only is the X70 Fujifilm’s smallest camera with an APS-C sensor, but it is also the first serious competitor for the venerable Ricoh GR. For these two reasons alone, it is worth serious consideration.

The Fujifilm X70 – All about the digital teleconverter

07/03/2016 By Heather

A great number of you have been asking about the Fujifilm X70’s new digital teleconverter and more specifically, whether it is simply a crop of the 28mm field of view or something more. To answer this question, I thought I would write a brief article ahead of my full review of the camera.

Let’s shoot some action, chapter II: an in-depth Fuji X-T1 firmware 4.0 review

22/07/2015 By Mathieu

One year ago, I wrote an in-depth article about the autofocus capabilities of the Fujifilm X-T1 for action photography. At the time, the X-T1 was the fastest camera in the Fujifilm X series but was still considered inferior to many of its competitors, something with which I agreed. In spite of its imperfections, however, the camera was able to do the job as long as you chose the right settings.

Honey, I shrunk the X-T1! – The Fujifilm X-T10 review

05/06/2015 By Mathieu

If you haven’t heard of the Disney movie “Honey, I shrunk the kids,” you probably didn’t grow up in the nineties. I watched that movie so many times when I was little that I wore out a VHS copy. So, how does this movie relate to the brand new Fuji X-T10? Well, you must admit that this new camera really does resemble a shrunken version of the X-T1! (By the way, if you wonder what the tiny camera in the cover picture is, it is a USB key).
