The new Ricoh GR is the company’s latest flagship. It is the smallest camera with an APS-C sensor and a fixed lens to date. It features a 18.3mm f/2.8 GR (28mm equivalent on 35mm sensor), making it an excellent companion for street photography. It also includes a new image processing engine called the GR Engine5, a 16 MP APS-C sensor (the same as that in the K-5II DSLR camera), quick focus speed, as well as an ISO sensitivity of up to 25600. Furthermore, it lacks an anti-aliasing filter, allowing it to produce sharper and higher quality images. In short, it sounds a heck of a lot like the recently released Nikon Coolpix A, and will certainly be a direct competitor.
