I love the UK for many different reasons but speaking strictly from a photography perspective, I love this country for its landscape opportunities. Seeing that unique harmony of light and shadow moving over the green lands is like watching someone literally paint with light over the countryside.
Last year I published a gallery of similar pictures taken with the Pen E-P5 around the Cregennan Lakes in Wales. Today, we went for a very nice hike in the Lake District in northern England with my Olympus OM-D E-M1, the 12-40mm f/2.8, the 75mm f1.8 and the 35-100mm f/2.8. I carried everything around with the Peak Design Slide strap and the Cosyspeed Camslinger 160 bag. More than 50% of the pictures were taken with the telephoto prime lens. I love shooting landscapes with telephoto lenses as you often get cleaner compositions and interesting layers of colour and light. We were very lucky with the weather as it was our only full day in the area –the perfect mix of sun and cloud mixed with a very comfortable climbing temperature. Actually it was exactly what I was looking for.
I hope you enjoy the gallery as much as I enjoyed taking the pictures.

Hello Mathieu,
I own the em-1 with the 12-40mm pro, 45 prime, 25 prime. We are getting ready for a trip to iceland:) And im thinking about renting an additional lens ….the 75mm prime u used here or the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm F/4.0-5.6.
Whats your advice on the two? for iceland:)
