Wildlife photographers could fall in love with this – The Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight review

18/01/2016 By Mathieu

The Olympus Dot Sight EE-1 is a handy accessory to use with long telephoto lenses. By generating a dot style illuminated reticle, it helps you to frame subjects that are far away and moving fast, with birds being the most natural example. Olympus introduced the Dot Sight first in the form of the SP-100, a superzoom bridge camera that has it built-in. Then the company released a separate accessory along with the M.Zuiko 40-150mm Pro lens and MC-14 Teleconverter in 2014. I’d always been interested in trying it out and the chance came with the new 300mm Pro that we recently reviewed.

Good looks and versatility in the same bag – Tenba Cooper 13 Slim Review

18/12/2015 By Heather

The most recent camera bag we had the opportunity to test was the Tenba Cooper 13 Slim, the second smallest of four messenger bags in the brand new Cooper range. At first, we were undecided between the Cooper 13 Slim and its little brother, the Cooper 8, but since the latter only fits 2-3 lenses and has no room for a laptop, we felt the larger version made more sense.

The Slide redesigned for mirrorless – Peak Design Slide Lite Review

11/12/2015 By Heather

If I’ve come to realise one thing about camera straps since starting this website, it is that choosing the most suitable strap ultimately depends on where, how and with what you are shooting.

Imagine you are walking through a chic part of London, ready to do some discreet street photography with your Fujifilm X100T. Considering the classy location, the stylish appearance of the camera and the genre, my first instinct would be to recommend an attractive and comfortable leather wrist strap.

Chapeau! – The Peak Design Everyday Messenger Review

02/12/2015 By Mathieu

More than once I’ve come clean about my weakness for camera bags. We have the chance to review quite a few of them for MirrorLessons and, as you would expect, we usually focus on products that suit mirrorless cameras. However, this time, the bag I am about to describe isn’t just for compact system cameras.

Review of Nucis Leather Shoulder Strap with Peak Design Anchor Links

20/11/2015 By Heather

A few months ago, we had the chance to review three straps from the Nucis collection courtesy of our friend Matthew Maddock of PhotoMADD. Handmade in Portugal, they embody what every photographer tends to look for from a strap: an attractive and practical design made from high-quality and sustainably sourced materials. For example, the Nucis Cork strap (our favourite of the three straps we reviewed) is fashioned from a mix of eco-friendly cork fabric obtained from the Montado ecosystem of southern Europe and local Portuguese leather.
