The Perfectly Mirrorless African Safari – Guest Post by Dallas Dahms

02/03/2015 By Heather

For the past 6 years, together with my tourism business associate, I have been arranging photographic safaris here in Africa for people who come from all over the world to get a taste of the wildlife and awesome landscapes that can be found in Southern Africa. We’ve been all over South Africa (where I live), Namibia, Swaziland, Botswana and last year we also saw a little bit of Zambia and Zimbabwe at the Victoria Falls.

Using Olympus 12-40mm & 40-150mm PRO lenses for weddings – Guest Post by Katrin Küllenberg

12/02/2015 By Heather

During the last year I used two Olympus OM-D E-M1 cameras with prime lenses for my wedding work. On one side of a Holdfast Gear harness I used the 12mm 2.0 lens and on the other the 45mm 1.8. I really liked the advantages of the M4/3s system. For some special occasions, I switched to the 60mm macro or the 75mm 1.8 lens.

Wedding Photojournalism with Fujifilm – Guest Post by Paul Richards

20/10/2014 By Heather

The X range of cameras has received a huge amount of critical acclaim and its fair share of criticism too. There are an awful lot of both professional and enthusiast photographers out there making some wonderful images with the Fuji line up, across a wide range of disciplines. One group of photographers for which I think the Fuji line up makes particular sense is documentary wedding photographers.

In the past I’d used Fuji Xs as secondary cameras at weddings and found them to be very useful as an addition to my regular Canon 5D3 setup. Inspired by Kevin Mullins‘ excellent wedding reportage work, I’d used both the Fuji X-Pro and Fuji X100s, with mixed success. To be honest, while I loved using them as a backup and in some of the quieter moments of the day, I didn’t feel that I could completely convert to them from my DSLRs.

That has all changed now… with the Fuji X-T1.
