Today seems to be a great day for firmware announcements. Olympus just released a list of new features that the flagship OM-D E-M1 and E-M5 II will receive in November, while the new official SonyAlphaUniverse site along with Neil Manovitz (Deputy Vice President for Digital Imaging at Sony Electronics) announced that the long-awaited 14bit uncompressed Raw option will finally be available on A7 cameras.

The new Sony A7s II updates its predecessor with internal 4K recording and 5-axis IBIS

We all knew that the Sony A7s successor would arrive sometime this year – it was hinted as much during the A7r II press event we attended a few months ago – but none of us really knew when.

Then today, during the Sony IBC Press Conference, the announcement was finally made. Just as Sony took flaw-ridden A7 and A7r and transformed them into the extremely functional A7 II and A7r II, the company has added all the right bells and whistles to the new Sony A7s II.

Have you ever wondered what a hybrid of the popular GoPro and the Panasonic GH4 would look like? Well, Z Camera, a two-year-old Los Angeles based company, is trying to bring this concept to life with its new E1 camera, the smallest Micro Four Thirds camera to shoot in 4K. Though launched only a couple of days ago, their Kickstarter campaign has already raised much more than the original goal and continues to amass support and funding.
