The perfect example of tradition and innovation? Meet the Leica T

24/04/2014 By Mathieu

Today Leica announced a new camera that is certainly surprising in many ways. The new Leica T marks the beginning of a new system for the German brand, and finds its place between the M and X systems. It features a 16mp CMOS APS-C sensor like the X2 but the image quality specs in this case are actually less important.

The Lytro Illum: Is the future here already?

22/04/2014 By Mathieu

The title of this article may be a premature assessment seeing that we have yet to see and try the camera first-hand, but I can’t hide the fact that I am very excited about this announcement. Forget megapixels, crazy ISO, sensor size. And forget autofocus the way we know it today. The Lytro Illum gives birth to an entirely new way of shooting.

21/04/2014 By Mathieu

Update: check out the new Cosyspeed Streetomatic bag in our review here!

“The world belongs to mirrorless heroes” is one of the slogans by Cosyspeed, an emerging German company specialised in accessories for mirrorless cameras. After using the bags intensively for the past month, I can easily adapt that slogan and say that mirrorless cameras belong to Cosyspeed bags. Why? The results are the Camslinger 105 and Camslinger 160, two belt bags that allow you to bring your camera anywhere more easily than with any other bag.

A Black & White Walk in the Mountains with the Olympus OM-D E-M1

08/04/2014 By Mathieu

Last weekend we spent Sunday afternoon in Mont Avic in the Valle d’Aosta region for our first “spring walk” in the Alps. It was my first real break after more than a month of non-stop work. That bit of fresh air and silence was exactly what I needed.

It was a little bit too early for coloured landscapes and nature shots. Snow was still present and the sky was cloudy for most of the day. As such I thought it would be an interesting opportunity to shoot in black and white and try the E-M1 JPGs in monochrome.
