A first look at Panasonic’s Post Focus function with the Lumix GX8

Today Panasonic released an interesting firmware update for Lumix GX8, G7 and FZ300 (bridge camera) users. The new and highly anticipated Post Focus feature allows you to select the focus point after taking the shot. From the first SLR camera with autofocus capabilities introduced in the eighties to this new feature, there’s no doubt that photographic technology has come a long way in a relatively short period of time.

More than a month has gone by since I started using the A7r II intensively. My review is still a “work in progress” because there is a lot to say about this camera. Given the interest in and enthusiasm for Sony’s new flagship model, I decided to take my time to gather as much information as possible. Using Focus Bracketing on the Olympus OM-D E-M10 II

Update: Olympus has announced firmware updates for the E-M1 and E-M5 II that include focus bracketing and focus stacking (E-M1 only) among other things!

It seems that with every new Olympus OM-D camera, we get at least one exciting new feature. And what’s great is that these features aren’t so much “technological gimmicks” as they are a reaction to the realistic needs and interests of photographers.

More shallow depth of field with your Micro Four Thirds camera – Using the Brenizer Method
