Welcome to LNDNWLK 2.0 – Taking online friendships offline

15/09/2014 By Heather

Too many times have I heard the complaint that social media, despite the connotation of its name, has rendered us more antisocial than ever before. Locked away in our rooms, we chat with individuals who play no part in our actual day-to-day existence, tricking ourselves into believing that our social life is much richer than it actually is.

This is why Mathieu and I are both firm believers that the “social media cycle” isn’t complete until online relationships are taken offline. As friendly as you can become with people via a social platform such as Twitter or Google+, there is nothing quite comparable to meeting someone face-to-face.

A taste of film in your digital work – Review of the “Rebecca Lily Pro Set III” presets for Lightroom & Photoshop

20/08/2014 By Mathieu

Exactly one year ago, I reviewed the Rebecca Lily Pro Set II for Lightroom. I became interested in these presets because some of them were specifically designed for the Fujifilm X-Trans sensor and at the time, the Adobe software hadn’t yet added the Film Simulation Modes for Fuji RAF files. While completely different from Fuji X camera colour rendering, Rebecca’s set proved a very interesting alternative that gave a nice and delicate filmic look to digital images.

The People of Wales: A Fujifilm X100s Gallery

30/09/2013 By Mathieu

One of the reason I love going on holiday so much is that I’m completely free to approach my photography as I like, without the constraints of work, client demands and a busy schedule. It is also the perfect time to work on personal projects.

The Perfect Harmony Between Film & Digital? The Rebecca Lily Pro Set II Review for the Fuji X-Trans Sensor

14/09/2013 By Mathieu

Testing the new Pro Set II by Rebecca Lily brought me in contact with a field in which I have little experience: film. Being part of the “digital” generation, I have never really given film a proper chance. My only experiences were when I was little (my first camera ever was a Yashica FX200) and during the Cinema School I attended in France where we learned to shoot and develop black and white film. I never felt a creative curiosity to continue with it and build a project around it, mainly because I always found digital more convenient for the work I do. But now that I am currently writing this introduction, I realise I should fill in this gap in my knowledge, as I believe that every new experience is precious for any photographer.
