Panasonic Leica 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 Review

24/05/2017 By Heather

The Panasonic Leica 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 is the latest lens in Panasonic’s range of Leica premium DG Vario-Elmarit optics. It becomes the fourth wide-angle zoom for Micro Four Thirds following the high-end Olympus 7-14mm PRO, Panasonic’s own Lumix G 7-14mm and the budget Olympus 9-18mm.

With an equivalent 35mm range of 16-36mm and a fairly bright aperture range of 2.8 to 4, it is a very versatile yet surprisingly light and compact zoom that can be used for landscapes, architecture, street, and environmental portraits. As always, you can find our full review in video format below!

Panasonic Leica 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Review

22/03/2017 By Heather

The latest lens in Panasonic’s range of premium Leica DG optics is the 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0. Following the Lumix 12-35mm f/2.8 (mark I and II) and M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO, it becomes the third high quality standard zoom for Micro Four Thirds. Although it lacks the constant aperture of its siblings, it offers more reach on the telephoto end, which makes it a good option for everyday photography and travel.

Panasonic Lumix 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Review

20/07/2016 By Heather

During my time with the Panasonic Leica 12mm f/1.4, I was also testing out the capabilities of very different lens from Panasonic, the new Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Power O.I.S. Both had become available to review at the exactly the same time which worked out well since I had two Micro Four Thirds cameras on which to use them, the Lumix GX85 and OM-D E-M1.

Panasonic Leica 12mm f/1.4 Review

15/07/2016 By Heather

There are many great lenses in the Panasonic Lumix G catalog, but none so prestigious as the six produced in partnership with Leica. The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 12mm f/1.4 ASPH, hereafter known just as the 12mm f/1.4 to simplify things, is the latest addition to the Leica series, and claims the title of the widest and brightest autofocus rectilinear lens for Micro Four Thirds.

The Panasonic 100-400mm f/4-6.3 review – A surprisingly good performer!

09/03/2016 By Mathieu

Have I already mentioned that 2016 is the year of super telephoto lenses? You might start to find me repetitive but the truth is that I am only halfway through the camera/telephoto lens combinations I am excited to try this year for wildlife photography.
