Fujifilm X70 Review – The travel-size Fuji with a wide angle

11/03/2016 By Heather

The short review (for those who already own the X100T): take away the hybrid viewfinder of the X100T, add a tilting touchscreen, shave off a few grams in weight, crunch it down to about 3/4 of the size, pop on a fixed 28mm equivalent lens and voila, you have the Fujifilm X70!

The long review (for those who are new to Fujifilm): Okay, okay, I knew I couldn’t get away with a one sentence review. After all, not only is the X70 Fujifilm’s smallest camera with an APS-C sensor, but it is also the first serious competitor for the venerable Ricoh GR. For these two reasons alone, it is worth serious consideration.

The Panasonic 100-400mm f/4-6.3 review – A surprisingly good performer!

09/03/2016 By Mathieu

Have I already mentioned that 2016 is the year of super telephoto lenses? You might start to find me repetitive but the truth is that I am only halfway through the camera/telephoto lens combinations I am excited to try this year for wildlife photography.

The Sony RX10 II review – A powerful all-in-one camera solution

02/03/2016 By Mathieu

The 1-inch sensor premium compact camera market is growing at a rapid pace. In fact, today, nearly every major brand has interesting offerings including Canon, Nikon, Sony and Panasonic. The segment aims to replace the previous generation of compact cameras that has now been taken over by smartphones. They are more expensive but also deliver better image quality and advanced functionalities.

First Impressions of the Sony a6300

15/02/2016 By Mathieu

Along with the new G Master lenses, we got the chance to see the Sony a6300 at the recent European Press Event in Amsterdam. Unfortunately it was only a pre-production model so we couldn’t take any pictures with it. However you can check out some official image samples on our Mirrorless Curation blog.

I won’t make this article too long since there are only a few things I was able to check out. Sony asked us not to leave the conference room with the camera so as you can imagine, testing was quite limited. I summarised all my thoughts in the hands-on video below. Further down, I’ll share the most interesting aspects of this camera.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY – Hands-On with the Sony G Master lenses (24-70mm f/2.8 GM, 85mm f/1.4 GM & 70-200mm f/2.8 GM)

Cover image: a 100% crop shot with the 85mm at f/1.4

Yesterday we had the chance to try the new Sony G Master lenses in Amsterdam at the Sony Benelux headquarters. The 24-70mm f/2.8 and 85mm f/1.4 were final versions while the 70-200mm f/2.8 was a prototype and as such, was only on display. The event was very well-organised and we had plenty of time to test the lenses at various sets designed for the occasion.
