10 Useful Accessories for Your Brand New Fujifilm X-T1

26/05/2014 By Heather

The Fujifilm X-T1 is undoubtably one of the most complete mirrorless cameras to hit the market to date. It has a compact and attractive design reminiscent of film SLRs of old, an impressive number of external dials and buttons on the body allowing for immediate adjustments to shutter speed, aperture, ISO and other functions, and a solid magnesium build that is lighter than your average professional DSLR. Much like the X100s, it has stolen the hearts of Fuji fans all over the globe, which is why you’ll find that many useful accessories for the camera, both official and third-party, are beginning to pop up all over the Internet.

Fuji X Series Club takes on Torino: A Day with the Fuji X10

23/05/2014 By Heather

A few months ago, on a cold foggy morning, Mathieu and I were sitting on a train to Milano, twiddling our thumbs in anticipation of our first meeting with the Fuji X Series Club Italia, a Facebook group which has grown to include nearly 3,000 members from all over Italy and the world. Little did we know that we were about to meet one of the nicest groups of people we’d ever come across, united by the love for a brand and the art of photography.

10 Amazing Photographers Who Use the Olympus OM-D E-M1 on the Job

20/05/2014 By Heather

You may not see many of them, but they’re there: professional photographers who have dispensed with much, if not all, of their heavy professional gear in favour of a lighter mirrorless system. Their reasons are many. Some have chosen a lighter load due to physical health problems. Others have come to the realisation that, for the kind of photography they do, a full-frame DSLR simply isn’t necessary. Either way, these photographers turned to mirrorless because they were looking to change the way they work. Plain and simple.

The Sony A7r and celebrity portrait photography: An Interview with Brian Smith

19/05/2014 By Heather

Welcome to our series of 100 interviews we will be holding with professional photographers who use mirrorless cameras for work! “Switching to a smaller and lighter system” has become somewhat of a buzz phrase as of late, but many working photographers take this philosophy seriously. From medical reasons such as resolving back and shoulder pain to the simple realisation that bigger does not mean better, photographers are turning to mirrorless systems now more than ever before.

This week’s interview is with Brian Smith, an American photographer who uses the Sony A7r and specialises in celebrity portraiture of actors, politicians, athletes and business leaders. His work has been featured in a plethora of famous publications including TIME, New York Times Magazine, Forbes, and Sports Illustrated. He is also a Sony Artisan of Imagery.
