The 5 Best Fuji Lenses for the X-T1 – A personal recommendation

07/08/2015 By Mathieu

In late 2013, I wrote a post about my four favourite lenses for the Fujifilm X-mount system. At the time, the list of native lenses available was still short. Now that the range has significantly grown, I decided to write this updated version of my previous article based in part on the experience I’ve gathered using Fujifilm gear over the past year and a half.

Better late than never! – The Olympus M.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 Review

04/08/2015 By Mathieu

In the series of “lenses I have been using for a while but haven’t reviewed yet” comes another gem that has always found a place in my daily work bag. The M.Zuiko 75mm is a telephoto prime lens with a fast aperture of 1.8. It is also ranked as one of the best Micro Four Thirds primes ever, and rightfully so.

The most powerful compact camera ever – The Sony RX100 IV Review

29/07/2015 By Mathieu

It seems that Sony enjoys putting amazing technology in as many of its cameras as possible. It doesn’t matter if it is a high-end or entry-level product, or if it is a professional interchangeable-lens camera or a compact camera. Sony likes to impress. With the RX100 series, they’ve done exactly that since the beginning. First it was all about creating a truly pocketable camera with a large sensor and great image quality. Then they managed to put a pop-up EVF inside that tiny body with the mark III. And now we have the fourth generation, which has inherited some stunning performance and video capabilities: 4K recording and slow motion up to 1000fps alone should be enough to grab your attention.

Born to be Wide – The Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 Review

23/07/2015 By Mathieu

Following our review of the 85mm that was published a few days ago, we are now here with our full review of the second Batis lens released by Zeiss, the 25mm f/2. The renowned German brand clearly sees Sony E-Mount as a system worth investing in, especially now that there are so many full frame cameras available. While the Loxia lens family is aimed at manual focus lovers who appreciate traditional distance scales and mechanical rings, the Batis family has more modern characteristics that include autofocus and the world’s first OLED screen on a lens.

Let’s shoot some action, chapter II: an in-depth Fuji X-T1 firmware 4.0 review

22/07/2015 By Mathieu

One year ago, I wrote an in-depth article about the autofocus capabilities of the Fujifilm X-T1 for action photography. At the time, the X-T1 was the fastest camera in the Fujifilm X series but was still considered inferior to many of its competitors, something with which I agreed. In spite of its imperfections, however, the camera was able to do the job as long as you chose the right settings.
