Wedding Photojournalism with Fujifilm – Guest Post by Paul Richards

20/10/2014 By Heather

The X range of cameras has received a huge amount of critical acclaim and its fair share of criticism too. There are an awful lot of both professional and enthusiast photographers out there making some wonderful images with the Fuji line up, across a wide range of disciplines. One group of photographers for which I think the Fuji line up makes particular sense is documentary wedding photographers.

In the past I’d used Fuji Xs as secondary cameras at weddings and found them to be very useful as an addition to my regular Canon 5D3 setup. Inspired by Kevin Mullins‘ excellent wedding reportage work, I’d used both the Fuji X-Pro and Fuji X100s, with mixed success. To be honest, while I loved using them as a backup and in some of the quieter moments of the day, I didn’t feel that I could completely convert to them from my DSLRs.

That has all changed now… with the Fuji X-T1.

Working professionally with the Fujifilm X series – Guest Post by Gabriele Lopez

10/10/2014 By Heather

“Are you shooting with a film camera? Is it old? What camera are you using?”

These are amongst the classic questions I am asked while working professionally as a photographer.

But first, let me introduce myself …

My name is Gabriele Lopez. I’ve lived and worked in Milan (Italy) as a professional photographer since 2004.

My jobs include: commercial photography which ranges from corporate to events, portraits mainly for local actors and books, weddings taken in a photojournalistic manner and personal projects that I do for myself and that the Millenium Images agency in London distributes. I constantly realize personal and collective projects in the form of self-printed books and fanzines.

Fujifilm X-E2. The Switch. A guest post by Fabio Camandona

19/03/2014 By Heather

Fabio Camandona became a photographer in 2007 during a vacation, twenty years after the thought “I’d like to be a photographer” first entered his head. From there he embarked on an intense independent study of the art, which led to him becoming a Master of the Nikon School in just two years, holding many high-level workshops for the company and himself. He began photographing weddings almost by chance, and with the arrival of his wife Simona Pilolla, he opened a studio called CamandonaPilolla which has had great success across the nation. Member of Fearless Photographers, the official photographer for both the Reggia di Venaria and the Torino Polytechnic University, and testimonial for Fujifilm Italia, he continues to hold numerous workshops despite the many weddings he photographs every year. He defines himself as an extremely simple person who loves life and living it.
