Good vibes of Toronto – The Fujifilm 16mm f/1.4 Review

09/06/2015 By Mathieu

When I traveled to Canada three years ago, I shot 80% of my photos with the Nikon D700 and the Nikkor 24mm f/1.4, one of the best lenses I’ve ever owned. It is as such a funny coincidence that I had the chance to try the equivalent focal length from Fujifilm when I visited North America again this year.

Pro zoom lenses for the X system – Part 2 – The Fujifilm 50-140mm f/2.8 Review

21/05/2015 By Mathieu

I bet that three years ago, when the X-Pro1 was first announced, the possibility of a telephoto lens such as the 50-140mm wouldn’t have even crossed our minds. At the time the budding system looked like an affordable rangefinder option with modern technology and a nice set of prime lenses. But that was the beginning and since then, a lot has changed.

Pro zoom lenses for the X system – Part I – The Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8 Review

08/05/2015 By Mathieu

As a working events photographer, there are two zooms that I’ve used more than any ther. They are usually known as the 24-70mm and 70-200mm equivalent on a DSLR/full-frame camera. I believe that this lens combo can be found inside the bags of many professional photographers regardless of whether they shoot sports, weddings or other genres. I had the Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8 and 80-200mm f/2.8 when I was working with my D700, and then I used the 12-40mm and 35-100mm f/2.8 with my Micro Four Thirds gear.

Walking the Welsh Coast with the Fujifilm X-T1 and XF 35mm f/1.4

23/02/2015 By Heather

The Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 first came into our possession a year ago when we saw it sitting in our local camera shop’s window at half price. Although it is one of the oldest XF lenses – it was released in 2011 alongside the X-Pro1 – its specifications aren’t to be underestimated. Besides having a compact and lightweight design, it also has a fast 1.4 aperture and a focal length that most photographers, regardless of their specialisation, want in their collection.

Always look on the “wide” side of life – The Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 Review

23/10/2014 By Mathieu

We bought the Fujinon XF 10-24mm with the Fujifilm X-T1 six months ago and it is the lens I have used the most on the X-T1 since then. I’ve always loved wide-angle lenses, with a personal preferences for fixed focal lengths. This is why I always thought that the XF 14mm f/2.8 I tested on the X-Pro1 last year would be my ideal choice, but after using the 10-24mm extensively, I am not so sure about this anymore.
