Your mirrorless right at your fingertips – The B-Grip Uno Camera Holster Review

29/06/2015 By Mathieu

Alternative carrying solutions seem to have increased with the rise of mirrorless cameras. While having a comfortable bag or strap is often a must, using smaller and lighter gear also means that we can carry it in different ways, enhancing the user experience. Last month Heather tested the Peak Design Capture Pro, a product that allows you to attach your camera to a backpack or messenger shoulder strap as well as directly to your belt. Today, we are looking at another product that falls into the same category but with a different design.

Designed for Mirrorless – The Tenba Switch 10 Review

26/06/2015 By Mathieu

When I saw the press release and promotional video for the new Tenba Switch series, I immediately liked the concept. The bags don’t look so different from other messenger bags at first, but they incorporate a couple of ideas that I find really interesting. There are so many bag options out there that it is often difficult to choose the right one. You might go with the brand you’ve always used, or choose the cheapest option you can find online or in a camera store.

Panasonic Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7 Review and Comparison with Olympus 45mm f/1.8 vs Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2

25/06/2015 By Mathieu

While Heather spent her time testing the new Panasonic G7  at the Erddig National Trust site, I concentrated on the new Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7 lens. As with the G7, this can also be categorised as a mini-review. My time spent with the lens wasn’t any longer than an afternoon but enough to write more than I did for our hands-on review from the UK Photoshow in March.

The Pirate Weekend in Conwy – A Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) Gallery

23/06/2015 By Mathieu

What’s not to like about a friendly bunch of pirates happy to be photographed? This past Sunday, Heather and I went back to Conwy for the Pirate Weekend, nearly a month after the Gran Fondo Conwy race. It consisted of two days of games, cannon fire demonstrations, music, food, and of course, lots of people appropriately dressed for the occasion. I thought that black and white could suit the pirate costumes well, so I brought along the new Leica Monochrom Typ 246, which I am currently reviewing.

Let’s not forget these two! – Hands-On with the Sony RX10 MKII and RX100 MK4

17/06/2015 By Mathieu

When the Sony A7r mark II was announced a week ago, with its full frame sensor, lots of megapixels and a new exciting autofocus system, it stole the spotlight from two other cameras that the Japanese brand released at the same time. However, these other two cameras – the RX100 Mk4 and RX10 Mk2 – shouldn’t be underestimated because they could give us a sneak peek of what’s to come on future products.
