The Dysynni Valley Walk: An Olympus Pen E-P5 Gallery

26/07/2013 By Heather

Update: our full review of the Pen E-P5 is now up!

The Dysynni Valley is sandwiched between the seaside town of Tywyn where my parents live, and a small chain of rugged heather-covered hills characteristic of the Mid-Welsh landscape. Cutting through the valley is the Dysynni river, a peaceful place where fishing, canoeing and kayaking are popular pass-times, and hiking paths are plentiful. Turn right along the river and you reach the open sea. Turn left and you end up at Ynys Maengwyn (unus mine-gwin), the ruins of an old family estate that has been engulfed by forest and brambles.

12 Architectural Pictures Taken with the Fuji X-Pro1 & the XF 14mm f/2.8

23/07/2013 By Mathieu

Last Saturday, I spent the entire day at the new Campus Einaudi University in Turin. I have been video documenting the entire construction for more than three years now, and on that day, we finished up our final shots using a drone and the Panasonic GH3.

15 Pictures of the Alps taken with the OM-D E-M5

16/07/2013 By Mathieu

Two weeks ago, we went to the Gran Paradiso National Park here in Italy and embarked on a wonderful 7 hour walk up into the mountains. It was just us, and the silence of nature surrounding us like a warm blanket. Of course, we brought our cameras along for the ride, and took a lot of pictures. I used my Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the M.Zuiko 12mm f/2 the entire time, while Heather had the Sony Nex-3N by her side (read the full review here).

Animal Reserve Near Aosta: The Fuji x20 JPG quality revealed!

04/07/2013 By Heather

It is more or less an established fact amongst photographers that the Fuji X-Pro1, X-E1 and X100s (that is, Fujifilm’s high-end mirrorless cameras) produce outstanding on-camera JPGs. The rich lifelike colours and impressive dynamic range are generated by Fuji’s innovative X-Trans sensor, which is now in its second generation and will continue to improve with every new X-series release.

San Giovanni Day in Turin: NEX-3N Sample Images

27/06/2013 By Heather

The most recent camera we’ve been handed for review is the tiny yet surprisingly capable Sony NEX-3N, dubbed the smallest, lightest and most compact mirrorless camera on the market today. How small can a mirrorless camera get? Well, this model really is not much bigger than your average compact, even with the 16-50mm kit lens attached. And this means absolute, 100% discretion as you roam the streets in search of the perfect photo.
