Panasonic Leica 12mm f/1.4 Sample Images and First Impressions

01/07/2016 By Heather

The very first mirrorless lens we ever bought was the M.Zuiko 12mm f/2 for our Olympus OM-D E-M5 and for the longest time, it was the only lens we owned for the system. Though we’ve since sold it and the E-M5 to fund other gear, it is still one of our favourite primes because of its excellent optical quality and versatile focal length, which equates to 24mm in full-frame terms.

Chasing light in Cornwall – Fuji X-Pro2 and Samyang / Rokinon Lens Image Gallery

27/06/2016 By Mathieu

The nice thing about reviewing cameras and lenses is that you are always out taking photographs. However the massive amount of work that goes into reviewing gear can make it difficult to simply enjoy taking pictures as a photographer and not a tester. Two weeks ago I finally had the chance to break away from the blog and social media, and savour one week in Cornwall doing what I like the most with photography: travelling.

Butterflies in Low-Light – Sony a6300 High ISO Gallery with the Zeiss Touit 50mm Macro

25/04/2016 By Heather

Not too far from where we live, there is a small yet very well-presented butterfly house situated next to the Cwm Rheidol Reservoir, a mere 10 miles from Aberystwyth. Founded by Neil Gale in 2000, the butterfly house is home to over 80 species of butterfly, of which 30 can be seen at any one time during the year.

To Cardiff and back – A Fujifilm X-Pro2 Acros sample image gallery

16/03/2016 By Mathieu

If you’ve read my previous Fujifilm camera reviews, you’ll know that one of my favourite features are the Film Simulation Modes (a.k.a. colour/monochrome profiles). A few years ago, I even wrote a dedicated post about shooting in B&W with the X100s.

So, naturally, the first thing I was curious to try out when I received our Fujifilm X-Pro2 was the new Acros monochrome profile. Like the other Fuji profiles, the name comes from the Acros black and white film produced by Fujifilm.

Film Simulation Gallery with the Fuji X70 – Sample Images from Aberystwyth and Barmouth

29/02/2016 By Heather

I never would have predicted this, but it turns out that the 28mm focal length and I get along like a house on fire.

Since purchasing our Fujifilm X70 from the good people at London Camera Exchange in Chester last week, I’ve had the chance to use the camera for a mix of landscape and street photography around Mid-Wales, and for neither genre have I found myself missing something slightly wider or longer. This contrasts my experience with the X100 series, whose 35mm equivalent lens I always found somewhat limiting (but Mathieu thoroughly enjoyed).
