Through the Cat’s Eye – A Sony A7s High ISO Mini Project

23/07/2014 By Heather

Do you see anything special about the cat portraits below? If not, I won’t be surprised or offended. At first glance, we have a series of simple images of the most photographed animal in the world in its natural home environment. Many of the photos appear to have been taken during the day, with light streaming in through the windows.

Chasing Light for Portraiture – A Sony A7 Gallery

28/02/2014 By Mathieu

Last weekend I did a photo shoot for the young Italian actress Barbara Novara. She wanted to update her photo book and look as natural as possibile in the images. It was for this reason that we decided to work outdoors with natural light. I checked the weather forecast and Saturday turned out to be the best option.

Christmas in Lyon: A Sony A7 Gallery (with Leica Summilux M lenses)

28/12/2013 By Mathieu

Since the release of the new Sony A7 and A7r, there has been a lot of talk about the cameras and their use with third party lenses. Of course Leica M lenses have been the hottest topic. The idea of using the world’s best lenses on an affordable full frame body has intrigued many photographers and enthusiasts. I don’t own any Leica lenses and would certainly not start a collection now just because I bought the A7. As wonderful as they are, I wouldn’t use them enough to justify the expense.

Scaling Bird Rock: A Sony RX100M2 Gallery

15/08/2013 By Mathieu

On Sunday we went on a walk up to the top of Bird Rock, a miniature mountain close to the town of Tywyn where we are staying in Wales. It was my second day with the camera, after beginning to test it the day before in Colwyn Bay (you can check out my first impressions review here). It is a short yet very beautiful walk amidst wonderful scenery; a great opportunity to have better a look at the lens performance, colour reproduction and dynamic range of the Sony RX100MII.

San Giovanni Day in Turin: NEX-3N Sample Images

27/06/2013 By Heather

The most recent camera we’ve been handed for review is the tiny yet surprisingly capable Sony NEX-3N, dubbed the smallest, lightest and most compact mirrorless camera on the market today. How small can a mirrorless camera get? Well, this model really is not much bigger than your average compact, even with the 16-50mm kit lens attached. And this means absolute, 100% discretion as you roam the streets in search of the perfect photo.
