Samyang / Rokinon 21mm f/1.4 review (Fuji X, Sony E, Canon M, Micro Four Thirds)

27/07/2016 By Mathieu

Samyang has been doing an excellent job with its manual focus lenses. They provide affordable products that in many cases fulfil the “good quality / low price” requirement while sacrificing some other aspects like autofocus and electronic contacts (but that might change since the brand recently launched its first AF lenses). They also have a popular line-up of Cine lenses.

Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 review (Sony E-mount)

18/07/2016 By Mathieu

When we interviewed product manager Christophe Casenave two years ago, he made it very clear just how important the Sony full-frame mirrorless system was to Zeiss. Today, with no less than 6 lenses designed specifically for the A7 series, we now have a clear picture of the German brand’s commitment, not only to designing lenses in partnership with Sony but also to producing a complete catalogue of its own products.

The Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Review

04/07/2016 By Mathieu

I knew right from the start that reviewing this lens would not be an easy task. Would I end up rejecting it because of its size and weight or would I transcend the “mirrorless camera = small” concept and appreciate the qualities it has to offer?

For portraits and more – Fujifilm 90mm f/2 Review

29/06/2016 By Mathieu

The Fujinon XF 90mm f/2 was the third portrait lens released by Fujifilm in addition to the 56mm twins (non-APD and APD versions). It was announced last year in May and we had the chance to see a pre-production model during our trip to Toronto thanks to the kind people at Fujifilm Canada. Today we’ve finally had the chance to publish our full review!
