Three days walking through the Cinque Terre with the Fuji X-T1 & XF 10-24mm f/4

28/04/2014 By Mathieu

Note: in December 2014, Fujifilm released the firmware version 3.00 that adds several new features to the camera including electronic shutter, Classic Chrome picture profile and many other things.

Despite living only three hours away from the Cinque Terre National Park, I had never set foot there before. There isn’t any particular reason except that I was probably waiting for a good excuse to go there, and that happened exactly last week when Heather and I took advantage of the long Easter weekend. Fresh air, long walks and a new camera/lens to accompany us: the perfect combination to escape work and enjoy one of the most unique and beautiful places in Italy.

Mirrorless cameras belong to Cosyspeed camera bags

21/04/2014 By Mathieu

Update: check out the new Cosyspeed Streetomatic bag in our review here!

“The world belongs to mirrorless heroes” is one of the slogans by Cosyspeed, an emerging German company specialised in accessories for mirrorless cameras. After using the bags intensively for the past month, I can easily adapt that slogan and say that mirrorless cameras belong to Cosyspeed bags. Why? Because Cosyspeed takes the main philosophy behind mirrorless cameras, which is smaller and lighter gear, and adapts it to bags. The results are the Camslinger 105 and Camslinger 160, two belt bags that allow you to bring your camera anywhere more easily than with any other bag.

Hands-On with the Sony / Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* 24-70 FE f/4 ZA OSS

28/03/2014 By Mathieu

Last Saturday, we spent a very nice morning with the Sony Italia team led by Davide Grimoldi and Amedeo Novelli. Many recent products were showcased including the A7 and A7r. As for me, I was interested in trying the new Vario Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 for the system and I wasn’t disappointed: there was only one sample available and I got the chance to try it right away.

Hands-on with the new Nikon V3: Staggering speed in a small package

14/03/2014 By Heather

Today Mathieu and I had some exclusive one-on-one time with the brand new Nikon 1 V3, the only sample available in Italy at the moment. Since it was a pre-production model, we weren’t permitted to take any of the images or videos home but they had no problem with us taking some product shots of the camera and the 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-zoom. With any luck, we should be able to test a finalised version come April.

The Review Preview: Likes and dislikes about the Sony A7

13/03/2014 By Mathieu

I’m taking my time with the Sony A7. I got it for Christmas and I’ve been shooting with it a lot ever since. Normally our complete review would already be online, but since it was a personal purchase, I decided it would be wise to hold off and gain as much experience with it as possible.

I’ve shot a wide variety of pictures and I also made a professional video with the camera, but since some of the final content isn’t ready, perhaps a short “work-in-progress” review is welcome.
