Panasonic Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7 Review and Comparison with Olympus 45mm f/1.8 vs Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2

25/06/2015 By Mathieu

While Heather spent her time testing the new Panasonic G7  at the Erddig National Trust site, I concentrated on the new Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7 lens. As with the G7, this can also be categorised as a mini-review. My time spent with the lens wasn’t any longer than an afternoon but enough to write more than I did for our hands-on review from the UK Photoshow in March.

The Perfect Day-to-Day Lens: Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 Review

07/07/2014 By Heather

For the past few weeks, the lens that has been glued to our Pen E-P5, OM-D E-M1 and more recently, the brand new Lumix GH4 is the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4. Released back in 2011, isn’t a new lens by any means but it has very quickly become one of our favourites for day-to-day photography.

A taste of Leica in the MFT system – A Panasonic-Leica Nocticron DG 42.5mm f/1.2 Review

10/06/2014 By Mathieu

This year Panasonic released two new lenses designed by Leica for the Micro Four Thirds system. One of them cannot go unnoticed. Not only is it larger and heavier than your standard MFT lens, but it is also expensive. Actually, at the time of writing this article, it is the most expensive lens available for both Lumix and Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras (until the next Olympus pro lenses come along).

The Panasonic GX7 & Leica 45mm f/2.8 Macro: An excellent combo!

05/11/2013 By Mathieu

On Sunday I had the chance to use the Panasonic Lumix GX7 along with the Panasonic Leica 45mm f/2.8 macro lens when a friend, who had rented it for the weekend, told me that he wasn’t planning on using it for the afternoon. Contrary to my expectations, I really fell in love with this little lens. Heather will tell you that I am anything but a macro photography fan (while she is!) so I had never really paid much attention to macro lenses up until then. But since I never refuse the opportunity to try something new, I took it out for a spin and found myself really enjoying it!

The best compact & professional telephoto zoom for MFT: A Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8 review

08/10/2013 By Mathieu

When you switch from one system to another, it is necessary to consider not only the camera body and sensor, but also the lenses. Actually, lenses have always been more important to me than anything else because they represent the primary tool that will produce a visible change in your pictures – more than pixels, noise or dynamic range. They are also the tools that will determine my composition and how I approach a work session. [Read more…] about The best compact & professional telephoto zoom for MFT: A Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8 review
