Going Wide Inside the Museum: An Olympus Pen E-P5 & Lumix 7-14mm f/4 Gallery

25/10/2013 By Mathieu

In the middle of September, the Turin Cinema Museum asked me to take some shots of the wonderful Martin Scorsese exhibition before its closing at the end of the month. The request was very simple: they wanted pictures of the temple room which included the main part of the exhibition at the bottom and the dome at the top. The temple room is both the biggest open space and the main chamber of the Mole Antonelliana, the tower symbol of Turin and home of the museum. Basically, I had to include the very bottom and top of this giant “room” in a single shot (around 70 metres, 229 feet).

The People of Wales: A Fujifilm X100s Gallery

30/09/2013 By Mathieu

One of the reason I love going on holiday so much is that I’m completely free to approach my photography as I like, without the constraints of work, client demands and a busy schedule. It is also the perfect time to work on personal projects.

Photo Gallery of Our Day at Castle Leslie with the Olympus OM-D E-M1

23/09/2013 By Heather

Huddled at the end of a higgledy-piggledy road that likes to call itself the town of Glaslough is a secret plentiful in lush greenery, tranquil lakes, serene walks and a castle so grand and well-preserved that one might think it belonged to the Monarchy itself.

It was here at Castle Leslie, one of the most handsome castles-turned-luxury resorts in all of Ireland, that Mathieu and I had our first meeting with the Olympus OM-D E-M1. This blog, MirrorLessons, was born with a review of the OM-D E-M5, so it only seemed right that the first big photography event we attended be in honour of the E-M5’s big brother, the E-M1. It was as if we had come full circle.

The Olympus OM-D E-M5 & Pen E-P5 Photograph the Côr Meibion Bro Dysynni

02/09/2013 By Heather

Wales is a country that is often closely associated with male voice choirs. The tradition took hold in the early 19th century when South Walian coal miners formed groups and began to sing together. Though these mining communities have largely died out, the choral tradition continues in Wales, and has produced many popular choirs such as the Treorchy Male Choir and Morriston Orpheus Choir. Male voice choirs can be found singing at the beginning of international sports events such as rugby, and often perform worldwide.

The Colours of Aberdyfi: An X100s Gallery using Rebecca Lily’s Pro Set II

27/08/2013 By Mathieu

Last week, post-processing tool designer Rebecca Lily sent me her new Pro Set II presets for Adobe Lightroom and ACR, developed primarly for the Fuji X-Trans Sensor (X100s, X-Pro1, X-E1, etc.). Since Fuji digital cameras have a colour rendition more similar to film than other digital sensors (especially to Fujifilm and in particular the Fuji Pro 400H), its RAW files are easier to match to a more natural film look in post-production. Rebecca designed these new presets to complement this unique base palette.
