Lights and shadows – A day walking in the Lake District with the OM-D E-M1

08/08/2014 By Mathieu

I love the UK for many different reasons but speaking strictly from a photography perspective, I love this country for its landscape opportunities. Seeing that unique harmony of light and shadow moving over the green lands is like watching someone literally paint with light over the countryside.

The Pet Shop Boys ‘Electric’ Tour – Using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 for concert photography

29/07/2014 By Heather

I’m not really what you would call an avid concert goer, but as soon as I heard that one of my favourite groups, the Pet Shop Boys, would be holding a free concert in Turin’s enormous Piazza San Carlo during the Traffic Festival, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I had seen them in concert over ten years ago with my mum in downtown Toronto, and while the experience was unforgettable, from where we were sitting, Neil and Chris appeared to be no more than two tiny moving specks off in the distance.

Through the Cat’s Eye – A Sony A7s High ISO Mini Project

23/07/2014 By Heather

Do you see anything special about the cat portraits below? If not, I won’t be surprised or offended. At first glance, we have a series of simple images of the most photographed animal in the world in its natural home environment. Many of the photos appear to have been taken during the day, with light streaming in through the windows.

Fuji X Series Club takes on Torino: A Day with the Fuji X10

23/05/2014 By Heather

A few months ago, on a cold foggy morning, Mathieu and I were sitting on a train to Milano, twiddling our thumbs in anticipation of our first meeting with the Fuji X Series Club Italia, a Facebook group which has grown to include nearly 3,000 members from all over Italy and the world. Little did we know that we were about to meet one of the nicest groups of people we’d ever come across, united by the love for a brand and the art of photography.

A Black & White Walk in the Mountains with the Olympus OM-D E-M1

08/04/2014 By Mathieu

Last weekend we spent Sunday afternoon in Mont Avic in the Valle d’Aosta region for our first “spring walk” in the Alps. It was my first real break after more than a month of non-stop work. That bit of fresh air and silence was exactly what I needed.

It was a little bit too early for coloured landscapes and nature shots. Snow was still present and the sky was cloudy for most of the day. As such I thought it would be an interesting opportunity to shoot in black and white and try the E-M1 JPGs in monochrome.
